Conditions of Matches
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS: Best Two Qualifying Rounds to count. The best 16 gross scores in Senior, Intermediate A, Intermediate B, Junior A and Junior B to qualify. No strokes. Not open to midweek members.
LANDON-LANE CUP (Fourball Knockout): Match play on handicap.
STACE CUP (Singles Knockout, 0-17): Match play on handicap.
FOOTE CUP (Singles Knockout, 18-36): Match play on handicap.
ROBOW TROPHY (Ringer Competition): Best gross score individual holes. Automatic entry.
RUFFELL TROPHY: Nett Ringer Conditions as above.
RARANGI TROPHY: Four rounds. Stroke play. Best three aggregate nett scores to count.
JACK ENRIGHT MEMORIAL TROPHY: Single Stableford. Four rounds. Best three aggregate Stableford scores to count.
RUTHERFORD MILN TROPHY: Nett Ringer Competition, for weekday competitions and tournaments.
ASHBY TROPHY: Junior Singles Knockout. Match play on handicap between juniors under 20 years.
BARRATT TROPHY: For Juniors under 20 years. Medal play. Best 3 rounds out of 4 to count.
CLUB TROPHIES FOR WOMEN
L.G.U. Medals: Sunday - Thursday combination round for players who work.
STRETCH TROPHY: In conjunction with LGU Sunday, Best 4 out of 7 rounds. Mid-week members not eligible.
CYRIL FOOTE TROPHY: In conjunction with LGU Thursdays, Best 4 of 7 rounds. Mid-week members not eligible.
CHAMPIONSHIPS: Qualifying Saturday & Sunday. Best 2 of 6 rounds. Then seeded draw. Match Play. No strokes. Mid-week members not eligible.
CONSOLATION PLATE: Silver and Bronze Plates between 1st round knockouts.
SINGLES KNOCKOUT: Handicap Match Play. Mid-week members not eligible.
HANZ TROPHY: Handicap Match Play. 4 Ball Knockout. Random drawn. Mid-week members not eligible.
CHARTERS CUP: Stableford Best 4 of 6 rounds.
ROBERTSON TROPHY: Medal Best 4 of 7 rounds.
MCDONALD TROPHY: Bisque Par, Saturday in grades. Best 3 of 5 rounds. Mid-week members not eligible.
MARGARET JOHNSTON TROPHY: Handicap Index 27.8 to 40.4. In conjunction with Home Links Competition.
RINGERS: Gross and Net - Weekend and Midweek. Club Competition Days, Club Matches (putted out) and closed Club Tournaments.
HILDA BEGGS CHIP-IN TROPHY: All chip-ins.
BIRDIE TREE: All holes birdied.
MIXED TROPHIES AND COMPETITIONS
ALICE PONT TROPHY: Mixed Fourball Knockout. Combined Stableford.
VERN BARRATT PRO TROPHY (Summer Competition): Gross and nett best three out of five rounds. Both men and women.
FORMS OF GOLF COMPETITION: These are listed in the rules of golf, or as on the NZ Golf website. However minor adjustments to these forms may be declared by the Committee, and their decision will be binding for that tournament.
HOLE IN ONE
These rules apply to all members with playing rights.
A Hole in One will be recognised under the following conditions:
1. Rarangi Club Members who score a hole in one in an official competition at Rarangi shall be entitled to use a Bar Voucher of up to $200.00 to cover bar expenses on the day in question. These players shall have their name placed on the Club Honours Board.
2. Rarangi Club Members who score a Hole in One while playing in an official competition outside of Rarangi shall, after providing proof of purchase at the club in question, be entitled to reimbursement of bar expenses up to $200.00.
3. A Rarangi Club Member who scores a Hole in One while playing a round at Rarangi in a two or more will have their name placed on the Club Honours Board only.

GENERAL INFORMATION
STARTING: Official starting times:
Saturdays 11:00am.
Sundays 11:00am.
Public Holidays: 11.00am.
Wednesday Men 11:00am.
Thursday Ladies: 10:00am as at 15/3/2026 (Summer 9.15am)
Friday Green Jacket 12.30pm.
These times are subject to alteration by match committee.
STARTING: On any club day, or competition or tournament set by the club, players must report to the starter no later than 15 minutes before the normal starting time, or the declared starting time for that competition.
STARTING TEES: 1, 9 and 11 or at discretion of the Match Committee. 5, 14, 8, 16 may also be used.
SCORECARDS: All sections of the scorecard must be completed scores agreed with marker and signed. Player and marker are to enter their scores into the computer together, entering wrong score may result in disqualification
SLOW PLAY: Slow play is to be avoided. When putting has been completed, move briskly to the next tee, if first to tee off, then complete score card afterwards. If players lose one clear hole behind team in front, or looking for a lost ball, let following players through. The teeing honour may be abandoned on any hole to help speed up play.
COURSE ETIQUETTE: Replace all divots throughout the course. Carts to be kept clear of all greens and tees (clear of the first cut). Repair ball marks on greens. After using bunkers smooth out all marks with rakes provided and place rake in middle of bunker. Keep your course tidy. Place all rubbish in the bins provided. Shoes worn on the course are not to be worn in the clubhouse.
Players are to maintain a reasonable standard of dress. Shirts must be always worn. Shoes must be always worn in the Clubhouse (jandals and sandals acceptable).
RULES OF GOLF: All golf played at this course shall be played in accordance with the “Rules of Golf” as approved by Royal and Ancient Rules Ltd and The United States Golf Association. These rules are amended from time to time.
LOCAL RULES: Local rules are permitted under the rules of golf and are set by the Club. These are posted on the notice board or are written on the score card. Players should themselves with these rules before commencing play.
FAIRWAY DISTANCE MARKERS: These measure the distance to the centre of the green, and are as follows: BLUE – 180m, WHITE – 135 m, RED – 90m.
MATCH PLAY RULES
Match Deadlines
All match play golf matches must be completed by the stated due date and no later than the final date provided.
Match Dates
Once match dates are posted, they cannot be changed except with approval from the committee. If you foresee any issues in meeting the deadline, you must contact the committee directly.
Communication Requirement
Both players or teams are required to make reasonable and genuine efforts to communicate and arrange their match. A match cannot be claimed by default if no prior communication has taken place.
Initial Contact
The player or team listed on top of the match play draw is responsible for making first contact as soon as the draw is posted.
Attendance at the Golf Course
If both players or teams are present at the golf course on the same day during the match play period, they are expected to play their match immediately if course conditions and tee times permit, in accordance with past direction from the Club Captain.
Dispensation
Dispensation will only be considered in cases of genuine family matters and must be approved by the committee.
